Program Guidelines

Miles are measured as a "health mile equivalent." What is a “health mile equivalent?  Running, walking, swimming, gardening or dancing for set amounts of time, eating nutritional foods, drinking recommended amounts of water and giving up cigarettes permanently.  Activities and healthy habits that may be used to earn miles are listed in the booklet provided to you upon registration.

The program begins Wednesday, May 21, 2008 and ends Friday, Aug. 29, 2008.  You can register at any time throughout the program by stopping at one of the registration sites - don't worry if you didn't start right at the beginning of the program.  The focus is on developing a healthy lifestyle!

Track your weekly miles on the mileage journal provided in your booklet, and then record your weekly miles on the coupons page insert.

Submit your coupons for weekly prize drawings at one of the drop-off locations or via email to benzk@trinity-health.org each week.  You may also phone in your weekly miles to (231)-876-7360.  Coupons need not be turned in each week; however it is the only way to be eligible for a weekly prize

Three Grand Prizes will be drawn at the end of the event.  Remember anyone can win regardless of how many miles you have submitted!

"Let’s Get Moving" is a simple, fun program through which participants log their daily miles and turn in weekly totals for prize drawings.

By participating in "Let’s Get Moving", residents help the greater Cadillac area accumulate miles for the regional Let’s Get Moving Northern Michigan program. Last year, nineteen cities in Northern Michigan competed to see which area’s residents could log the most miles. The Cadillac area came in third place last year, just behind Traverse City and Alpena. This year, event organizers say they want even more participation and hope to give last year’s top cities a run for their money.

“We would like to see the whole area out and moving!” exclaims Dawn Ewald, Co-chair of the Cadillac Community Health Coalition. “Let’s Get Moving" is a fun way to get in shape, and high participation levels are a great source of pride for our community.”

Let's Get Moving Northern Michigan has been endorsed by the Governor's Council.  As a result, all participants of this program can register to lead the Memorial Day Bridge walk with Governor Granholm.  Visit www.michiganfitness.org for more details.

Participants in the Cadillac area can get much more information at the www.cadillacmichigan.com  including registration sheets, mileage conversion charts, and other program details
